On February 23, 2026, the Oakville Community Table Tennis Association (OCTTA) attended a Lunar New Year Reception in Ottawa at the invitation of Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, The Honourable Anita Anand.

During the event, Minister Anand acknowledged OCTTA’s contribution to sport and community development and presented attending athletes with autographed paddles and certificates of recognition. She expressed appreciation for the association’s ongoing efforts in promoting table tennis and supporting youth engagement.

The invitation reflects recognition of OCTTA’s long-term commitment to growing the sport in Canada. In addition to supporting athletes competing at provincial, national, and international levels, OCTTA remains deeply rooted in community development.

Through year-round programs serving seniors aged 55 and above, inclusive initiatives for children on the autism spectrum, and contributions to local organizations, OCTTA continues to promote table tennis as a sport that fosters inclusion, health, and connection.

OCTTA remains dedicated to advancing table tennis across generations and strengthening its positive impact within the community.
